Detoxification is the process of removing the toxins from the body, and that is exactly what the detox diet is designed to do. For adding variations to your breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu, refer to the sample diet plan given in the following Buzzle article.

Our body performs the function of detoxification via the skin, liver, kidneys, and the digestive tract. Sweat and urine excrete the heavy metals in the body. The lungs detoxify the body by excreting the toxic gases from the body. Certain fruits, vegetables, and some of the herbs and spices have detoxifying properties, which need to be incorporated in the daily diet. Food additives and pesticides on the foods that we eat, is the main cause of the toxins in our body. These diets are not only used for detoxification, but are also used for maintaining optimal levels of vitamins and minerals. They also help in weight loss.

7-Day Detox Diet Menu

This menu can be repeated if you want to go for a 21-day diet. Also, if you want to take up the diet for 3 days, you can choose any of the following options. When you wake up in the morning, take 1 glass of lukewarm water along with half a lemon squeezed in it.

Breakfast

There are six diet variations for breakfast. Actually, a combination of any cereal can be taken as breakfast.

  1. Millet porridge served with powdered milk and dried fruits as toppings
  2. Oats porridge with powdered milk, honey, and nuts
  3. Compote of mixed dry fruits that are soaked in orange juice, served with yogurt
  4. Fruit salad of papaya, mango, and melon that is topped with sesame seeds
  5. Boiled eggs and steamed spinach on white wheat toast
  6. Non-wheat bread that is toasted and served with honey

Lunch

Salad forms the complete lunch in the detox diet for 7 days. Let us take a look at it.

  1. Goat cheese salad with walnuts
  2. Mediterranean vegetable omelet with red onion, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, and peppers
  3. Vegetable stew heaped on a toasted, wheat-free bread
  4. Steamed vegetables with non-wheat pasta along with tomato sauce
  5. 1 baked potato stuffed with feta cheese, tomato, cucumber, onion, and black olives
  6. Raw vegetables with Mexican dips

Dinner

  1. Seasonal vegetables and organic oily fish with a squeeze of lemon
  2. Stir-fried broccoli with nuts
  3. Baked salmon with vegetables
  4. Pasta with olives and artichokes
  5. Potato mash served with roast vegetables and fish
  6. Quinoa with wild rice pilaf
  7. Tomato casserole and spicy cannellini
  8. Vegetable fried rice with nori
  9. Lentils with cauliflower
  10. Marinated vegetable kebabs
  11. Roasted vegetables like beetroot, tomato, zucchini, red onion, and pumpkin seeds with feta cheese

This is the 7-day diet menu for detoxification of the body. This can also help you to prepare a 3-day diet menu.

Along with this diet, you must drink plenty of water throughout the day. Do exercise for about 20-30 minutes every day. A detox diet can help with weight loss, and prevent a number of health problems, like, blood pressure, heart diseases, digestive tract problems, kidney problems, and liver problems.
