A fruits and vegetable detox is considered as one of the best practices to cleanse the systems (especially the digestive system). Our body accumulates impurities and toxins over time, through foods we consume. A detox program, apart from cleaning the body, also allows digestive system to rest. The system can work with extra efficiency, which is reduced due to the constant pressure it has to bear due to consumption of fast foods. Just like our brain needs rest after working, the digestive system also requires time to get back to normal.
Fruit and Vegetable Cleanse
In the fruit and vegetable detox diet, raw foods are used for consumption. Such kind of foods give a feeling of well-being by means of toxin removal. The feeling of nervousness, weakness, anxiety, which creep into our lives, on a regular basis, is partly because of the toxins that accumulate in the body over a period of time. Detox helps to get rid of these health problems. One should keep in mind that canned fruits should not be used in a detox diet. These fruits contain sugar and therefore, would not be of much help in the efficient removal of toxins.
Plan for Fruit and Vegetable Diet
The detox diet should be planned properly and executed correctly. There is no standard time limit for a detox plan. It can be a one day detox, 3 day detox, a week-long or even a longer one. In a 7 day detox diet with fruits and vegetables, fruits need to be included in the diet for 7 days. A vegetable and fruit diet should be followed after this period.
Fruits like watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, should be used for breakfast. The fruits need to be consumed separately, without mixing them with each other. Oranges, pineapples, grapefruit, plums, can be used for lunch. Melons can also be used for lunch. It is advisable to drink water throughout the day. Bananas, pears, apples, can be used for dinner. As stated earlier, mixing of fruits is not recommended. Continuing in this manner for a week, and then going for a vegetable diet, during this natural detox at home, is recommended.
In the second week of this raw food detox diet program, vegetables and fruits can be mixed in the meals being taken. Consuming only fruits for breakfast should be a better option, even in the second week. Fruits like apples, kiwi, pineapples, oranges, can be used for breakfast. For a heavy lunch, bananas along with vegetables like lettuce is a good option. Other foods to be included in the diet are pears, grapes, dried apricots, celery, dried raisins, etc. A similar diet plan can be followed for dinner.
